Color space

ERROR DESCRIPTION

COLOR_SPACE errors are given when a graphic element contains color information that is not supported by the printing process. The types of graphic elements include artwork, text and images. These objects can have fill or stroke type attributes that are assigned unsupported color spaces.

SOLUTION

Color space problems should be addressed by adjusting the color settings of the original document in the application that created the file. For example, if the file was created with an image editor such as Adobe Photoshop, open the image in Photoshop and convert the image to CMYK, Grayscale or Bitmap.

DEFINITION

Color space – A particular variant of a color model with a specific gamut or range of colors, which is one of its chief characteristics. For example, within the RGB color model are a number of color spaces like Apple RGB, Adobe RGB (1998), sRGB, etc. While each of these define color by the same three axes (R, G, and B), they differ in gamut as well as in other specific characteristics.
