Version 1.2

May 6, 2003

  • Clients updated: Windows and Mac OS X (Mac Classic not updated)
  • PowerPoint XP, 2000 SR-1 embedded font update. PowerPoint XP and PowerPoint 2000 SR-1 for Windows do not embed all fonts in a presentation file even if users chose the option for embedding all TrueType fonts. These two versions do not embed "Arial" or "Times New Roman" but reference them as being used in every presentation. This update corrects the way RI inspects these presentations and allows users of these two versions to inspect their PPT files correctly.

Note: Macintosh versions of PowerPoint do not have an option for embedding TrueType fonts. This means PowerPoint files saved from the Macintosh will not pass Rapid Inspector.
  • Other minor bug fixes.

Version 1.1

April 3, 2003

  • Clients updated: Windows, Mac OS X and Mac Classic
  • Rapid Inspector was updated to inspect Adobe Illustrator 10 EPS files correctly. The first release of RI (1.0) inspected EPS files from version 10 and failed them for a CMYK 72 DPI embedded image even though images were not embedded in the EPS file.
  • Technical Support page now collects user system information for more efficient communication and more responsive support.
  • Support for Apple Computer's new JVM (Java Virtual Machine) version 1.4.1. Users of Mac OS X that updated their JVM through Apple's "Software Update" received the new version. This new JVM did not allow users to user Rapid Inspector 1.0. Version 1.1 is compatible with Apple's 1.4.1 JVM.
  • Other minor bug fixes.
